Presentations

Ratio

Always use 16:9 as the aspect ratio for your presentations. This can be changed - in Google Slides - by opening a presentation in Google Slides. Click File and then Page setup. To pick a size, click the Down arrow and select Widescreen (16:9)

Margins

To ensure each slide has enough breathing room, create a margin (not a border) around the creative — this border should be 6% of the width of the slide - marked below as 'r'. The creative, logo and content must always live within this safe space. The only exception to this is background images and flat color backgrounds that should extend to the edge of the creative.

Imagery

Never use black and white imagery - unless as a background under a colorful overlay. Instead opt for full colour images that meet and match all the necessary brand requirements and guides

The inverse is then also true, never use a full colour image behind an overlay

Bedrock slides

Title slides

Using our neutral shapes, various presentation title slides can be created

Section slides

To seperate sections, various section slides can be use. The default, as demonstrated below, is a slide split into two equal parts with the slide title vertically centered. Space is provided on the right - or left - for images, iconography etc.

When and if using the optional section title, remember to align the slide title to bottom against the safe space and add in the approprate margin below the section title

As above, but if visual aids are needed, cut the slide in two equal parts. Remembering to keep all the necessary margins and spacing as prescribed. Content should only span 50% of the slides (taking into account the margins) and images should / could fill out the remaining space between the top and bottom margins

End slides

Using the same rules and guidelines as before, an end slide of a presentation should appear as illustrated below. Only ever use the full logo as the branding signal and only ever use the primary typeface — in a regular weight if using the only domain name or highlight the subdomain / page in bold — when writing out the URL — content always be should bottom left aligned on the slide

Only ever use a solid wash of colour - the colour should be the primary colour of the property, audience or brand you are building a presentation around.
